Dr. Arunandhichelvan and his team which includes Dr. Kharthik and The Radiation Oncologist had treated my grandma for her breast cancer. Firstly, we were very anxious when we heard about her cancer and indecisive about the different approaches suggested by some hospitals in Coimbatore. We being in Erode can't decide where and how to start the treatment since Coimbatore is far away which could be difficult to travel by the patients during their treatment. By that time Dr. Arun of Oncofundation, Erode was suggested by another doctor whom we trusted. If we could get first class treatment in Erode itself then why to bother patients to travel far away to get the same.

Going to Dr. Arun was the best choice we made for our grandma's treatment. He is a highly talented surgeon and very empathetic towards his patients. We always wonder how he could be so calm and gentle enough to handle patients despite his busy schedule. Dr. Arun did the surgery and he clearly articulated the care and the methods we were required to follow before and after surgery. We truly were very happy about him choosing as my grandma's surgeon.

We then thank. Dr. Kharthik for his chemotherapy treatment. He is a well experienced and qualified doctor who explained everything well to us and took good care.

The Radiation Oncologist of radiation dept.offered clarity and guidance to us about the radiation treatment and took great care during the process. We really appreciate the staff members of the hospital who were well trained. We should thank the manager Mr. Boopathy who took care of all the appointments and to clarify all our doubts at any time through phone. We appreciate all the nurse staff who were very gentle in handling our grandma and they made her feel peaceful during her stay in the hospital. The follow up system was very good and we felt at ease as they call us a day before to remember our chemo and check-up dates. My entire family is happy and thankful to Dr. Arun and his team. Their compassion, expertise and dedication to improve the quality of life for cancer patients are truly commendable. Choosing a right hospital and doctor team would help us to win over cancer. We have chosen right.

A hospital with a mission, evident from the portraits of Dr Shantha of renowned Adyar cancer institute - Onco Foundation of Erode is nothing less than world class.
Also, what sets this apart from the rest is The Empathy of the Doctors . While the technical know how of the doctors is at par with some of the best in the world, ( based on the numerous second opinions I got from various doctors of india). - the empathy by the doctor or the patient really helps in faster healing !
Especially Dr Arun Nandi Chelvan - is nothing less than GOD to me and my family. He treated us like family and whatever he suggested on the first go was the best. A very humble person with amazing knowledge and depth - it would not be far fetched to say that he is one of the best Surgical Oncologist in our region, if not our country.
Again - Ina few words - it’s the best place, in your worst moment !!

I work in the healthcare profession for nearly 30 years and I encounter patients who are cancer survivors. I also knew that with the advances in the medical field, cancer treatments have been very encouraging. But all these went out of the window when my Amma was diagnosed with cancer. The overwhelming and catastrophic thought took over and it felt like we are going to lose our Amma to cancer.

The immediate reaction was to find out where to take her for the best treatment. My parents live in a small town near Erode and I decided that I should take her to one of the premier hospitals in Chennai or Coimbatore.

However, it was decided to keep her in Erode itself as Amma was too weak to travel to Coimbatore or Chennai. Reflecting on it now, I would say, it was the best decision we took.

Firstly, I must thank Dr Ganeshwaran of The Preeti Neuro Hospital where Amma was initially admitted and underwent all the necessary tests. Amma was taken care of by Dr Ganeshwaran and his team with top-quality care and compassion. The nursing staff in general, particularly, on the second floor were very skilled and caring.

Dr Ganeshwaran has a great network of doctors within Erode and made the necessary arrangements for the tests and investigations.

Through Dr Ganeshwaran we meet Dr N Kharthik and Dr Arunandhi Chelvan of Onco Foundation Cancer Hospital, Erode, and had a series of meetings to plan for Amma's treatment. They both were extremely compassionate and always made time to explain things clearly while maintaining high professional standards.

As per the medical recommendations, it was decided that Amma will have to undergo surgeries and Dr Arunandhi recommended that she should get the surgeries at the Erode Medical Centre as it was a multi-speciality hospital with an additional backup should she need it during the surgery and postoperatively. She underwent surgeries at the EMC by Dr Arunandhi and his team and post-operatively she was taken care of extremely well by the ICU team and Dr Arunandhi.

Amma is back home recuperating and making steady progress. Thanks to the wonderful doctors of Erode for their integrated medical approach. Though the doctors have their own hospitals, they never shied away to seek support from other doctors /hospitals for better care for their patients. By the way, I have no doubt that the cost would have been significantly higher in Chennai/Erode compared to Erode. Based on our recent experience we give 5 stars to the Preethii Neuro Hospital, Onco Foundation and Erode Medical Centre, particularly, to the Surgical and ICU team. Thank you Dr Ganeshwaran, Dr Kharthik, Dr Arunandhi Chelvan and Dr Arunpandian.
